President’s Fall 2008 Message
The Fort Detrick Post has had a busy Fall this
year as our Scholarship Golf Tournament in
September was attended by over 90 golfers (and I
use that term very loosely….) who with our
sponsors raised over $6,000 for the Scholarship
fund at Worthington Manor. Many thanks to our
Tournament Director Ed Niko and the tournament
volunteers, especially Jennifer Columbo and
Chrissy Polchito with MBP, and Maria Maxwell and
several others from Aerotek. It was a beautiful
day and truly our best tournament ever!
Our October meeting featured a presentation on
New Trends in Power Generation by Gary Farmer
with Alban Engine Power Systems. It was not
only a timely topic due to recent energy and
political concerns, but a fascinating
perspective on the prospective and multiple
options emerging to solve our Nation’s energy
requirements.
We
are currently looking for a new Secretary as
Marci Nelson has made a career change. Please
contact me at 410-271-7779 if you know of
someone who would like to join our Board for
this position. We are always looking for new
talent on our committees, so let me know if
you’d like to be a part of SAME’s fastest
growing Post!
Our Holiday Party is planned for Tuesday,
December 2nd at the Ceresville
Mansion, which always provides fantastic food
and atmosphere for this event. Hope to see you
there!
